Battery saving, that is one thing every smart phone user wants. Actually, the act of battery saving is not rocket science. Using the following tips outlined below will really go a long way improving battery performance and extending battery lifetime.
1. Avoid exposing the battery to direct sunlight or heat.
Excessive exposure of your smartphone battery to direct sunlight or heat can reduce or permanently damage the battery, especially if the battery is 100% full and exposed to direct sun light or heat.

Screen timeout means how long your phone LED backlight will remain on after using it. Setting this to low will reduce power consumption and enhance battery performance.
4. Avoid areas with poor signal strength.
When you are in with low signals, your phone will try to boost its signal by searching continuously for signals, this will cause battery drainage. To save battery, try to avoid these areas or switch to 2G. Another option is to switch off your phone or activate airplane mode.
5. Be mindful of third party applications
Poorly developed or design applications often consume more power than they should. be careful when installing third party apps especially different applications that do the same job. Speaking from experience, application from known and recognised developers and sources are more efficient than those from unknown sources.
6. Avoid Task Killers
Task killers or process killers as they are popularly known do cause more harm than good. Try to avoid using them if possible.
7. Close applications that are not needed.
Most smart phones are great when it comes to managing background applications, this is not always the case. Manually closing an application when it is no longer in use is important to avoid unnecessary battery consumption.
