  • Fingerprint Sensor (Side Mounted)
  • Fast Charging (33W Capacity)
  • 4500 mAh Non-Removable Li-Po Battery

The Infinix Zero 8 design, may not be something strange, but it does bear a few design elements that show improvements in Infinix’s smartphone delivery, especially when when viewed it side by side with its predecessor, the Infinix Zero 6.

Let’s keep the improved aesthetics for now. Infinix didn’t really do much in terms of build quality. we still have a squared box of Gorilla glass and plastic, something similar to what we have had on most Infinix smartphones from the past.

On the back of this mobile phone, we have a dual colour tone finish, there you will find a camera module with a shape that can best be described as two pyramids or triangles joined together at their base. It’s quite different from what we have seen from this brand in the past.

The camera module on the back houses a quad camera setup  and an LED flash. Also included on the rear panel is the Infinix branding, which indicates the brand behind this technological piece.

90Hz Refresh Rate Display Infinix Zero 8 Smartphone

90Hz Refresh rate display sounds kind of strange for the infinix Zero 8. Think about it, over the years Infinix has this reputation of being a low end phone manufacturer. It was very difficult to imagine an Infinix smartphone with such a feature as premium as a 90Hz refresh rate. This is 2020, the game changer has arrived.

The Infinix Zero 8 sports a 6.85 IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2460, a density of 392 PPI and the crown of it all, a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes animated UI elements load faster. This refresh rate will also have a positive impact on it’s gaming capabilities, as it makes gaming on the Infinix Zero 8 a lot more enjoyable. This due to the fact that they are going to become a lot smoother and seamless.

The Cameras

The camera aspect of the Zero 8 wasn’t left out in terms of upgrade. Infinix also made huge efforts in improving cameras. For a start, the Infinix Zero 8 packs in six cameras in all, four on the back, and two up front for selfies. The Quad camera setup on the back host a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4, and a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4.

This back camera setup is capable of shooting videos maxed out at 4k @ 30fps. You also get 1080p @ 30fps video record mode, as well as HDR and Panorama modes for taking photos.

Selfies are manned by a dual-camera setup on the front comprising of a 48MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. This front camera setup is capable of shooting videos capped at 1080p @ 30fps. You also get HDR mode for photos.

Hardware and Software

As mentioned earlier, the Zero 8 is the first true mid-range smartphone from Infinix. It has a modern smartphone hardware equipped with what it takes to compete with top-grossing mid-rangers in the smart phone industry today.

Infinix Zero 8 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is the same processor found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 pro. This is a games centered smartphone processor that offers top-notch gaming performance.

The other performance boosting factors include a Mali-G76 MC4 GPU for graphics, 8GB RAM, 128GB built-in storage, with an option for storage expansion via MicroSD. In terms of Software and operating system, it runs the XOS 7 user interface on top of the Android 10 operating system.

33W Fast Charging

A 4500mAh battery is not be the biggest on a smartphone and it is not the selling point for the  Zero 8. Infinix mobility wants the Zero 8 enthusiasts to have top-notch charging speeds, and as such equipped the Infinix Zero 8 with a 33W fast charge mechanism, which is a bit more than the 30W charging on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 series.

For connectivities, Infinix Zero 8 features a USB Type-c port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and a dual-band WiFi system. The Internet connection here is capped at 4G, which means enthusiasts won’t get the luxury of 5G speeds.
